The Clerk serves as the link between Board of Aldermen and citizens as well as between the Mayor and employees.
The Office of Clerk for the City of Seligman provides clerical, record keeping and administrative functions to the Board of Aldermen and the Mayor. In addition, this individual performs many tasks that assist in guiding and managing the operation of local government policy and law. Below are just a few of the responsibilities of the City Clerk.
- Manages requests to speak to the Board of Aldermen (subject to approval by the Mayor).
- Collects information, prepares agendas and other information for the Board of Aldermen.
- Collects, organizes, and maintains records of the City.
- Records and prepares meeting minutes for all boards and commissions.
- Custodian of Records for the City.
- Utility Billing Clerk (Water, Wastewater and Solid Waste).
